Attorney Profile

Catherine L. Pierce, Esq. is a solo practitioner located in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.  She is licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and California.

Cathy is a native Pennsylvanian who has been practicing law for over fifteen years.  She attended law school and practiced law with several major law firms in California before returning to Pennsylvania and her roots in 2009.

Legal Experience

While in California, Cathy obtained broad legal experience, with primary concentrations in real estate and business transactional law.  Her clients were very diverse and included: numerous real estate developers of master planned and mixed-use communities; a manager of a California pension fund that bought and sold apartment complexes on behalf of its client; landowners; major surfwear, skateboard and skimboard manufacturers; a children’s clothing designer and manufacturer; a large advertising company; an employment agency; several high-tech companies; owners of an auto repair chain; and several wealthy individuals, including the founder, owner and publisher of a well-known California publication, and owner of an historical Los Angeles–area ranch.

Since returning to Pennsylvania, Cathy’s practice continues to focus on serving a wide variety of clients, including: individuals; businesses, ranging from start-ups to small/medium/large-sized and non-profits; developers and the construction trade; and service businesses. She counsels her diverse portfolio of clients on a broad array of legal issues.  Her major areas of expertise include residential and commercial real estate and construction; land use, subdivision and development law; and business, corporate and commercial law.  She has expertise in a wide variety of business transactions, including start-up, acquisition, divestiture, and franchising.

Business Experience

Cathy is a second-career attorney, having worked for several Fortune 500 companies in various international business, marketing, planning and financial capacities before making the decision to become a lawyer in 1992.  One of her employers, the chemical subsidiary a major oil company, supported her while she attended the prestigious Wharton Executive MBA Program of the University of Pennsylvania and continued to work full time in the early 1980’s.  That same company sent her to live and work in Hong Kong in the late 1980’s, where she was instrumental in helping to open up a regional Asian headquarters office and participated in many investment and planning decisions for expansion of the company’s manufacturing and sales bases in the region.

As a result of these experiences, Cathy brings a unique perspective and understanding of both the practical and legal sides to business development and decision making.  She strives to ensure that the services she provides to clients are prompt, cost-effective, and results-driven.
